During periods of dry weather, such as winter in Florida, you might notice your pool levels getting lower more often. Sometimes it’s as simple as it being a dry time and not raining very often. But it also could be more than normal evaporation. Typical evaporation is 1”-2” per week. Pools with a water feature such as waterfalls can experience more evaporation. Warm days and cool nights also cause pool water to evaporate more quickly. If you notice you are filling your pool more than 2” on a weekly basis, it might be time to perform “the bucket test”.
